“My favorite part about skiing is the freedom you have to express yourself. It’s kind of like drawing on a canvas. You have the snow on the mountain, and you can draw your line however you want, and I think that's the beauty of it. Showcasing your own style and doing tricks that feel good.” – Thibault Magnin

One could argue that Thibault Magnin was practically raised on skis. And when your father owns a ski shop (and you grow up in the Fribourg Prealps), you’ve got a pretty solid case for it. From a young age, Thibault split his time between carving Swiss slopes and learning the ins and outs of the family business at his father’s shop. But his small Swiss hometown was just the beginning—Thibault’s path was always destined to reach mountains far beyond.
“We’ve always lived differently. Growing up in a small town in Switzerland, people can be close-minded and comfortable in their routines. Losing my mom when I was 8 years old was a hard moment for our family, my dad, my little brother and myself always stuck together and moved forward and took it as an energy to live our lives to the fullest. My dad loved to travel, so we grew up exploring the world, doing things a little differently than most families,” Thibault explains. At 16 years old, Thibault’s father took him and his brother on a journey they had always dreamed of—a transformative trip that marked the beginning of a new chapter.
The three-month trek was a love letter to their passions, with each destination dedicated to a family member’s hobby or interest: 3 weeks in Peru for his dad’s love of surfing, a week in the Galapagos to indulge his little brother’s fascination with wildlife, and 2 months in the mountains of Colorado for Thibault’s love of skiing. Surrounded by the towering Rocky Mountains and some of the best snow on Earth, Thibault’s passion for snow sports exploded. The following year, he returned to Colorado to pursue his dream of becoming a professional Freeskier. Reflecting on the experience, Thibault says, “It really was a dream trip that started with my mom and changed everything.”

That trip marked the beginning of an impressive career. Thibault’s professional resume is now packed with standout achievements: winning the Quicksilver Young Guns in 2018, taking first place in the 2019 Spanish Championships, and placing ninth at the World Championships in Aspen in 2021. His momentum continued with a silver medal at the 2022 Spanish National Championships, a podium finish at the VII Slopestyle Font Romeu World Cup, and the Best Go Pro Moment at the Nines. By the end of 2022, he was ranked among the top 15 in FIS Big Air and the top 20 in FIS Slopestyle World Rankings. In 2023, he claimed first place at Red Bull Infinite Lines in Avoriaz and finished fifth at the Slopestyle World Cup in Tignes. Thibault achieved two world-first tricks in freestyle skiing—an impressive accomplishment that’s highly regarded in the sport for pushing boundaries and driving innovation to new heights. In 2024 he also participated in the Freeride World Tour. It is safe to say he’s a well-rounded skier, bringing his skills from the terrain parks all the way to the big mountains.
But his accomplishments don’t end there—Thibault also competed in the 2022 Beijing Olympics representing Spain. Only ten months after a torn ACL, he doubled down on physical therapy and training for an incredible comeback, defying the odds and most doctors’ predictions for recovery time. With the 2026 Winter Olympics on the horizon, he’s now focused on training and conquering upcoming qualifying competitions.
Outside of competing, Thibault has pursued a remarkable path in filmmaking, producing awe-inspiring projects that showcase his lifestyle and multisport talents, inspiring audiences worldwide.

Thibault isn’t one to settle. Not content with mastering just one action sport, he spends his off-season surfing and kite surfing with his family in the Dominican Republic. The skills he hones through these sports enhance his freestyle skiing, fueling his quest to combine style and flair with disciplined technical skill. Another advantage of a summer spent defrosting in the Caribbean? The mental reset and ability to return to each ski season even stronger. 'I feel like I couldn’t spend the entire year in winter, only skiing,' he reflects. 'I need the summer to recharge. I find inspiration in all the different sports that I do and that helps me grow my skills in skiing and flow in the mountains with a different vision. Quality time with my family also helps me to enter the season mentally prepared and ready to go.'"
At only twenty-four years old, Thibault Magnin has already achieved so much—and we’re incredibly excited to see what he accomplishes next. Welcome to the Vuori Team!
